NOVEL REVIEW

TITLE : MR. BEAN IN TOWN`

The novel entitled Mr. Bean in Town is very interesting seen from various sides. The contents of this novel tell about the life of a person named Mr. Bean. In its presentation, this novel is often interspersed with the funny behavior of Mr. Bean thus brings up various elements of comedy. This story has also been praised by various parties because it is very interesting. This story is also presented in the form of a film. The plot of this story makes it easy for consumers to know about the content of this story and makes readers feel like they are being swept away and carried away into the comedy that is shown.

The language style used in this novel is considered a good style and very interesting. With the display of language style like this, it is able to make it easier for readers to understand what the author is saying and explore more about what the author wants to convey through the novel entitled Mr. This Bean in Town. In this story the author uses a third person point of view so that it is easier to describe what happened.

The contents of this novel tell more about the daily life of the character Mr. Bean, where in the course of his life, there must have been a problem he faced in a unique way that made the readers laugh when they read Mr. Bean's behavior. Beans. In the novel that I'm reading, it contains 2 main sub-chapters about the activities of Mr. Beans in town. The first is titled Steak Tartare and the second is titled The launderette.

The plot used in this story is a forward plot. The series of stories is very sequential from one incident to another. In the first chapter, entitled Steak Tartare, it is said that today is Mr. Bean. He wanted to celebrate by eating at a restaurant. With a variety of strange behavior he entered and sat at a table. There he put a birthday card on the table so. Mr. Bean started ordering food. He was surprised that the price of food in the restaurant was very expensive. Finally he ordered Steak Tartare because the price was according to the money he had. He didn't know what steak tartare was and how it tasted, but he ordered it straight away because the money was right.

When the food came he immediately tasted it and it didn't taste good. He wanted to throw it away but the restaurant manager kept watching him so he had to eat. When the Manager didn't notice he started to hide his food little by little. For example in a salt bowl, flower vase, bread, etc. Even so, he still had plenty of steak. Finally when a waiter passed by, he tripped the waiter and finally spilled Mr. Bean’s food. At first he was happy because now it means the food is finished. But worse things came. He was moved to a new table and served a whole steak tartare and had to finish it.

In the next chapter tells about the activities of Mr. Bean when he wanted to wash his clothes. As usual, something ridiculous happened at the laundry. When he was about to wash his underwear, he was surprised that his underwear was lacking 1. He also realized that he was wearing the other one. He rushed to the back of the washing machine to change his pants, but there his pants were swapped for a woman's skirt which was brown too. He was laughed at by others. After that he tried to take his mixed pants which a woman had put into the clothes dryer. When he wanted to take it, he was pushed into the clothes dryer instead. In the end, he went round in the dryer.

The interesting thing about this novel is the many strange behavior of Mr. Bean who makes the reader more entertained and wants to continue reading this novel to find out the continuation of his strange behavior. The use of language in this novel and the plot to tell the events in sequence make it easier for readers to understand the story of this novel. Besides that, there are also shortcomings in this novel. In my opinion, the cover of this novel is less attractive because it does not describe the contents of this novel.
